2023 Build Season – Week 6

Week Six

Aloha! Welcome to the sixth week of the 2023 Charged Up Build Season!

day 38

With the Super Bowl marking the start of Week 6, our students took the day off before getting straight back to work the next day! Construction students adjusted key components of the robots replacement parts while working with Control Systems to increase robot durability. Control Systems tested the robot autonomous program to gain more accuracy during the autonomous period. Business, Media, and Documentation resumed working on the Week 5 recap video and updated our website with photos of our team!

With a long day ahead, our students worked hard preparing for the upcoming competition season. Construction students worked on modifying the robots designs while replacing robot parts during practice. Control System students continued pathing autos, as well as practiced driving and operating with the competition robot. Business, Media, and Documentation students submitted our FIRST Impact essay and worked with the Control Systems team to record videos and clips for the 2023 Robot Reveal!

On our 40th day of our Build Season, our students continued giving their all to prepare for the competition season! Construction students worked on securing robot parts while replacing parts on our practice bot. Control Systems adjusted pathed autos on our competition robot and practiced driving with the practice bot. Business, Media, and Documentation students began planning and gathering media to create the Robot Reveal video! They also met with online mentors and practiced their FIRST Impact Award presentation to prepare for the Canada Pacific Regional!

Students arrived quickly and began working to improve our robot. Our Construction students continued working on spare parts and are working with Control Systems to test robot ability. Our Control Systems subdivision continued pathing autos, practiced driving, and worked on the technical binder. Meanwhile Business, Media, and Documentation worked on the Robot Reveal video while also practicing presenting their FIRST Impact Award Presentation to adjust it for time!

day 42

As the last Friday of the 2023 Build Season, are students were hard at work testing our robot and preparing for our upcoming trip! Construction students worked on spare parts for our robot while practicing as human player and working with our Control Systems team. Control Systems has continued practicing autos and play testing the new game with our competition robot. Business, Media, and Documentation students took photos and videos, gathered clips for our Robot recap and uploaded our Week 5 Recap to our Youtube channel!

day 43

Today was our final Saturday of the 2023 Build Season but that didn’t stop our students from working hard and making progress! Construction Students worked with Control Systems to test and make adjustments to parts on the robot. Control Systems resumed testing and pathing new autos while simultaneously practicing driving. Business, Media, and Documentation worked on gathering clips for our 2023 Robot Reveal and began compiling already gathered clips while also practicing their FIRST Impact Award Presentation with our online mentors!

Crunch Time: day 44

On the penultimate day of the 2023 Build Season, students continued to work hard! Construction students machined spare parts and made corrections to our practice fields charging station. They’ve also been designing, cutting, and assembling panels for our robot crate. Meanwhile, our Control Systems team are working diligently on autonomous routines on our practice field. Our drive team has been practicing scoring cubes and cones! Business, Media, and Documentation has been filming and editing clips for our 2023 Robot Reveal! They’re also practicing FIRST Impact Award presentations, drilling questions, memorizing parts, and editing this year’s FIRST Imapct Video.

Crunch Time: day 45

Students continued to work hard as our 2023 Build Season comes to an end. The Construction had fixed a minor brake in the robot from practice. They also continued to make and prepare spare parts to get shipped out safely. Control systems continued testing out the autos, fine tuning them and making minor adjustments. They are also adjusting to the updated weight on the balancing bridge. Documentation is taking pictures, updating the website and are starting to pack up their tools for the trips. With this year’s Build Season finally coming to a close, we can’t wait to see you all at upcoming regionals this year! Mahalo!
