2023 Build Season – Week 5

Week FIVE

Aloha! Welcome to the fifth week of the 2022 Charged Up Build Season!

day 30

Week 5 has begun and students are hard at work preparing our competition robot and adjusting robot code. Construction has continued fabricating spare parts for the robot. Control System students continued wiring and tested our current subsystems to see how they adjust with our competition robot. Business, Media, and Documentation have been busy working on the FIRST Impact Award presentation and video, Week 4 recap video, and the weekly social media post.

day 31

The 31st day had our students hard at work making sure each subdivision was completing tasks at a substantial rate! Construction students worked on continuing to fabric spare parts and working without Control System students on our competition robot. Control System students finished wiring the competition bot with the motors ready in place, adjusted subsystems, and worked on the autonomous. Business, Media, and Documentation students worked on the FIRST Impact Award presentation with our online mentors and updated our website!

day 32

While fabricating spare parts, our Construction students also worked without Control System students to test the competition robot on the charging station. Our Control System students tested the robot, identified spare motors, and adjusted functions on our robot on our practice field. Business, Media, and Documentation students have been making lots of progress in our FIRST Impact Award presentation and met with our mentors to discuss adjustments alongside reworks for photos on our website.

day 33

It’s the middle of Week 5 and we are racing toward the completion of our robot! The Construction students have been painstakingly fabricating spare parts, making repairs and adjusting to our final robot. Control Systems continued to test robot subsystem code and practiced with the final robot alongside Construction. Meanwhile, Business, Media, and Documentation has been fine tuning their FIRST Impact Award submissions and taking photos and videos for our team media!

day 34

Construction students continued to cut polycarbonate for our competition robot. Construction also resumed creating spare parts and adjusting our robot. Control Systems carried on modifying the robot autonomous and acclimating to the controls. Business, Media, and Documentation worked with our online mentor to go through our FIRST Impact Award presentation run through and prepared a script for the next day of recording the Week 5 video!

day 35

It’s a Friday, and students are working hard as the 5th Week is close to an end! Construction worked on manufacturing and assembling spare parts for the competition of the robot. Control Systems worked on implementing a command based utilization of path planner 2.0 and programming specific autonomous routines. They are trying to tackle a problem with imprecise odometry readings. Business, Media, and Documentation finalized their FIRST Impact Award presentation and continued editing the script for the FIRST Impact Award video. They also filmed the weekly recap video.

day 36

Ending the week off, each subdivision continued their progress in preparation towards the competition season! Construction proceeded to finish off the last set of parts and begin construction on replacement components. Control System students ran autos and crimped wires with the competition robot. Business, Media, and Documentation students started editing the week 5 recap video and are finalizing the FIRST Impact Award submissions!
